Experience

EDF Energy – Heysham 2

I worked on ensuring robust cybersecurity practices such as clearing Sensitive Nuclear Information from network switches.

I learned about the role of cybersecurity in high-stake circumstances and the importance of reliable data storage through RAID.

Lancaster University – IT Partnering & Innovation

Collaborated in a team to produce a website about mental health awareness for local schools.

Learnt about scrum methodology for completing projects and DevOps.

Carried out QA on the university’s website.

Projects

Project Volare

A flight simulator for RAF cadets who didn’t already have access to one.

I wanted to create a realistic physical and aerodynamic simulation of an aircraft.

I programmed a 3D physics engine from scratch and applied aerodynamic forces to the surfaces of the aircraft.

Necadeus

A 2D videogame about wizards for a game jam at my school.

I composed the soundtrack, created the sprites and wrote the code to bring the game to life.

Latin + Computer Science

As part of mentoring 10 students in Latin, I created an automated emailing and marking system.

I also made an online vocab tester to help my classmate.

I have begun to make a Latin sentence generator, which I hope will be able to incorporate machine learning to generate realistic sentences.
